Chanel’s MÉTIERS D’ART SHOW made an appereance in Dallas this year. Karl Lagerfeld traced the history of Coco Chanel back to her 1957 arrival in Dallas, Texas to meet Stanley Marcus, co-founder of Neiman Marcus. The “Paris-Dallas” Show was a inspired by the American West and “an idea of old Texas, before the civil war” Lagerfeld said. He opened with “the Return”, starring Geraldine Chaplin as Coco. The film recounts Coco Chanel’s comeback in the 1950’s after World War II.
The artistry of Parisian hat maker Maison Michel was highlighted among the talents of embroiderer Lesage and flower and feather maker Lemarie.
